The Polliamorous Network
Client: bee:wild
Team: Anna Skär , Mimmi Onsum
Background
Its crucial that mayors and other policymakers in cities around the world act to create more pollinator friendly areas.
Insight
Each valentines day, billion of flowers are gifted across the world, and nearly a third of people with a romantic partner plan on gifting flowers on Valentines. Each bouquete holds the potential to nourish bees and other pollinators. Yet, when we keep flowers indoors in vases, the bees can´t reach the nectar.
Idea
This Valentine’s Day, Bee:Wild creates The Polliamorous Network. An initiative where people are encouraged to gift potted flowers instead of cut ones, and rather than kepping them indoors, we urge them to place these pots in open windows, balconies, or outdoor spaces. This creates pollination corridors for bees to travel from window to window, turning every home (or city hall) into a pollination station.
